I bet I don’t need to explain to anyone reading this why I would write about calming kids down on a sensory processing disorder blog.
Anxiety, frustration, agitation? Check.
I read “What’s Eating Your Child” by Kelly Dorfman several weeks ago and one thing that’s stayed in my mind was her mentioning Magnesium for calm. 200 mg for a child age 7-12.
Natural Calm gets terrific reviews from people who’ve tried it. The Natural Calm company has several different types of magnesium complexes on their site and solid helpful information to go along with it.
Another easy way to absorb magnesium is with a simple Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate) bath. Soak in a warm bath with 2 cups of Epsom Salt for 20 minutes and feel the calming magic. (You can add in a cup of baking soda if you’d like too.) The Epsom Salt will work to detox the body and at the same time soak in the magnesium which acts as a sedative for the nervous system.
Try it! People call it: the Magic Bath.
