I bought this toy for my kids, who fight over having turns with it. They love the spinning sensation and being in control of their own little ride- since they can “drive” themselves slowly or fast. It’s definitely a favorite for many children.
The dizzy disc is similar to the sit-n-spin but it also helps builds balance and can be adapted for different skill levels.
Which kid doesn’t love the swings in the local playground? The vestibular system gets into high gear when in the swinging motion. Bring the swings home with any one of these indoor swings:
This is a little pricey but the best kind out there. It comes with a support bar and three attachments: a swing, a hammock swing, and a trapeze bar. You can get just one of these on Amazon but each of them serve a different purpose and sensory kids crave these activities (vestibular function). Hanging upside down, wrapped in a swinging hammock, or just swinging to the sky (ceiling in this case), if you watch the face of a sensory kid during or right after these activities, you’ll see a look of pure pleasure. It’s wonderfully calming for them as well.
This is another swing that parents swear by. It looks nice and comfy!
And another! Looks like great fun and has good reviews.
Balance! This is where so many sensory kids have difficulty, and it has to do with their vestibular functioning. Here’s a few toys that help a sensory kid learn proper balance:
Excellent toy! Durable, high quality, inexpensive, easy to store.
A different type of balance board. Also very durable.
A great toy that is silly fun, and promotes balance and coordination.
Fun challenge for kids. Again, for practicing balance.
Another type with the same idea as above. Great activity!
Terrific toy. A personal favorite of mine because you can adjust it to make it harder or easier and keep on working on that balance.
These anti-gravity moon shoes are so much fun for kids. A great product that helps teach balance.
It is so important to have toys such as these around one’s home so that children can use them and develop all types of skills properly. All of these toys can be used to create an in-home sensory gym which is what is considered an ideal atmosphere for a child with sensory issues.
